As is the case with most medications, Provigil may be accompanied by some unintended side effects. These may include insomnia, agitation, anxiety, aggressiveness, confusion, tremor, sleep disturbance, nausea, and diarrhea. Most patients will not experience these side effects but those who do will usually find that they are self limiting and will dissipate on their own before the symptoms are bothersome enough to discontinue the medication. Patients who find symptoms are bothersome should contact their doctor immediately to determine if this is the right course of action for them.
